While 3000+ schools exist in the country to satisfy the demand for MBA, only a handful of these B-Schools impart quality education and churn out leaders. Thiagarajar school of management (TSM), is transforming students into role ready professionals, who can take up challenges of various industries with expertise and ease. It was established by the great philanthropist and industrialist, Shri. Karumuthu Thiagaraja Chettiar, in the year 1962 and is arguably the oldest B-school in South India. TSM is a well furnished and self-sustained institution which houses a state-of-the-art infrastructure with 60,000 sq.ft. of built up area. All classrooms are fully equipped with modern furniture, audio visual aids like LCD projector, and a Computer with Internet facility. The Institute also has air conditioned seminar halls with video conferencing facility, an air-conditioned auditorium, computer lab and examination hall with a capacity to house more than 250 people and a cafeteria. Computing facilities (24 hour Wi-Fi enabled campus) at TSM use powerful computers for providing support for diverse computing requirements, access to bibliographic databases and archives for rapid retrieval of relevant information and for updating and dissemination of academic and research material. MSDN Academic Alliance Programme, IBM Academic Initiative and other such efforts provide a complete, inexpensive solution to keep academic labs, faculty and students of TSM on the leading edge of technology.A computerized library, well stocked with a wide range of management and computer literature is the focal point of the institution. The TSM library attracts not just students but also outsiders who come to TSM for reference material. In order to facilitate group efforts, regular group interactions as well as library-based study,the institute has excellent accommodation facilities for the students inside the campus which helps them to stay at walking distance from all the facilities.It has a strong student-driven culture, and all incoming students are encouraged to participate in diverse activities, which will help their interactive, team, and organizational skills- attributes which all corporate employers look for.

The precedence of the institution over other B-schools in the state could be majorly attributed to its faculty-which represents a rich blend of academic rigor and broad managerial / professional experience. The institute also brings in lots of industry experts as visiting or guest faculty so as to bridge the industry-academia gap.The diverse faculty base enable the “TSMites” to get extensive exposure through the range of topics from rural marketing to development of strategy for MNCs. The institute offers both MBA and PGDM. The curriculum for both the programs consists of core courses in the first year and a number of electives in the second year. As in IIMs case study analysis is a major part of classroom discussions. The students are exposed to organizational situations that represent actual complex management problems.
