Mannam Memorial NSS College, Kottiyam was established in 1981 by the Nair Service Society in memory of its founder, Shri. Mannathu Padmanabhan. Mannam Memorial N.S.S. College is affiliated with Kerala University. It was recognized by the University Grants Commission in 2004. Mannam Memorial N.S.S. College is the 15th in the order of hierarchy of 24 colleges of Nair Service Society. There are 1340 students on the rolls of the college, with 859 girls and 481 boys. The Staff strength is 78, including 41 teachers and 37 non teachers. Though the college is situated in a socially and economically backward area, it stands first in the result of University Examinations among the first grade colleges situated in Kollam town. The elected representatives of the college Union perform their activities creditably.
