About V.T.M College of Arts and Science : VTM College of Arts and Science, Kanyakumari was established in 2004 as a self supporting Linguistic Minority Institution. The College is owned and managed by Velu Thampi Memorial Educational Trust, a unit of the Kanyakumari District Nair Service Society, registered in 1997. The college has been sanctioned by the Government of Tamil Nadu, and is affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. The college is located on a sprawling 10. 01 acre campus in the panchayat town of Arumanai. The college is named after the great patriot and freedom lighter, Velu Thampi Dalava of the erstwhile princely state of Travancore. The foundation stone for the college was laid by His Highness Utharadom Thirunal Marthanda Varma, Head of the Travancore Royal Family in 2002. The college building was formally inaugurated by Mr. N. Dhalavai Sundaram, Honourable Minister of Public Health, the Government of Tamil Nadu in 2005.
