About Jamia Hamdard Faculty of Nursing :
The Faculty of Nursing came into existence around the nucleus of Rufaida School of Nursing. It was established by Hakeem Abdul Hameed Saheb in 1983. It became College of Nursing in year 1994 and started B.Sc.(H) Nursing Programme. Jamia Hamdard became Deemed to be University in year 1989. The Rufaida School of Nursing was part of Majeedia Hospital prior to the formation of the Faculty of Nursing. The purpose of establishing the school was to contribute towards overcoming shortage of nurses in the country to some extent. The other aim was to encourage girls from Muslim minority community and weaker sections of the society to take up this noble profession.
